Yellow Room

Our Mission Statement

Our mission statement is to cultivate genuine, happy, and trusting relationships so that children can become enthusiastic lifelong learners as well as kind, empathetic and thoughtful adults.

We value and respect the needs and strengths of all children and are dedicated to celebrating the individual child while encouraging participation in a collaborative, inclusive, and respectful community.

We use developmentally appropriate, play-based curriculum to build on children’s natural curiosity and enthusiasm for learning in order to provide an engaging, fun-filled program that meets the needs of the whole child.

 STEAM PROGRAM
STEAM

What is STEAM?

STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math.

  • STEAM encourages students to BE CURIOUS and ASK QUESTIONS so that they can build knowledge about the world around them by observing, discovering and investigating.

*Why is STEAM necessary in a preschool classroom?

  • STEAM explorations give children the skills needed for life long learning. Children learn how to observe, ask questions and investigate. They deepen problem-solving skills that lead to innovative thinking.

*Let’s take a closer look at STEAM strategies in the “yellow” room.  We…

  • Set up a learning environment that cultivates exploration and inquiry.
  • Scaffold student learning by asking open-ended questions
  • Model STEAM vocabulary
  • Offer experiences that give our kiddos opportunities to discover how things work
  • Connect to our kid’s interests.

Social-Emotional Skills for Early Learning Curriculum

“Second Step” The Power to Grow!

We help our littlest learners harness their energy and potential by teaching them to:

  • Listen
  • Pay attention
  • Manage their behavior
  • Get along with others
Creative Curriculum
  • The Creative Curriculum is a comprehensive, research-based curriculum led by student interest that encourages critical thinking skills through investigations and project-based learning.  It’s interdisciplinary curriculum that embeds components for different parts of our day, including math and literacy, all driven through play.
MEET THE TEAM

I have had the privilege of being a part of The Logan Team since 2019. I have taught for about 23 years at different schools in and around Los Angeles. I have had the opportunity to teach Pre-K through 8th grade. I have worked as a preschool teacher for about 16 years. I genuinely enjoy working and caring for preschoolers. My philosophy is that each child is unique, therefore they learn and thrive at their own pace.

  • Phonemic Awareness Curriculum

  What is Phonemic Awareness?

Phonemic awareness is the ability to understand that spoken words are made up of individual sounds called phonemes, and it’s one of the best early predictors for reading success.
